In the late 1960s, Dr. Alexander Schauss studied how the color pink could influence people’s behavior. He noticed that simply staring at a card printed with Baker-Miller Pink after exercising could effectively lower his heart rate and slow his breathing. Schauss believed that this special tone of pink, also known as P-618, could calm people down. In 1979, he tested his idea at a prison in Seattle by painting cells pink. The results suggested that spending just 15 minutes in a pink cell could greatly reduce violent behavior.
