　　If it is a clear night on September 8, anyone in Taiwan who looks up at the sky will be able to see an incredible event. On that night, a shadow will slowly move across the Moon and cause it to appear red. This is because a lunar eclipse will be taking place. Lunar eclipses are rather regular events that can occur all around the world. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth is positioned directly between the Sun and the Moon. When this happens, the Moon’s access to the Sun’s light is blocked and the Earth casts a shadow over its surface.

　　如果九月八日那天晚上天气晴朗，任何人在台湾抬头仰望夜空将能看到一个不可思议的现象。那晚，一道阴影会慢慢横越月亮表面，使月亮呈现红色。这是因为月食正在发生。月食是相当常见的现象，在世界各地都有可能发生。在月食期间，地球正好位于太阳和月亮之间。当这种情况发生时，月亮无法接收到太阳的光线，且地球会在其表面上投射阴影。
