Part of Alan Turing’s legacy is a test he proposed to examine computer intelligence. In 1950, Turing published a paper exploring the question: Can machines think? To find answers, he introduced an experiment now known as the Turing Test. It is a way to check if a computer can respond like a human during a conversation. The test includes three participants: a human judge, another person, and a computer. The judge asks the other person and the computer questions and reads their answers without knowing who gave them. If the judge can’t tell the computer’s response from the other person’s, the machine is considered intelligent.
