The Pallas’s cat gets its name from Peter Simon Pallas, the first person to study it in 1776. Since then, it has been found throughout Central Asia. The cat mainly lives in high-altitude grasslands and mountainous regions in small populations. The Pallas’s cat is about the size of a typical house cat. Its fur, which is the thickest among all cats and protects the cat from extreme cold in the winter, makes it appear larger.
